Bridging the gap between experimental measures and biomarkers PDF Print E-mail

PI: Dr Mayada Elsabbagh (Birkbeck, University of London)
Funding: Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship

The proposed project focuses on developing valid measures of individual differences in infancy and testing how these relate to later emerging skills. This is achieved through focusing on a group of infants at genetic risk for developing autism. Different research strategies will be adopted to test the validity, reliability, and stability of target experimental tasks and how these can be developed into biomarkers of risk. In the long term, findings will contribute towards a better understanding of individual differences in infancy and allow for the use of similar methods to be used with other risk groups.
